From last day onwards, when I start up my HTC EVO Android phone, it displays a message ‘Type password to decrypt storage’. What is the significance of the same? Will this affect the smooth functioning of my device shortly?

Decrypt storage password is the password to dcreapt phone storage to use the resources.
Your phone will ask for this if you set a password for it only. So try to remember that you
set any password or not when you are lastly using your phone. If not then is you give it
any person else. May your any of friend set the password.
If you are not able to find this all then you have one option only, that is completely restore
your phone. This restore will delete your data and contacts from your phone. So if you are
ready for this then you can go for it only. it will be better that go to HTC service center and
say about this problem. They will make complete restore for you.
