Android phone not identifying the compatible headphones

I tried connecting a compatible headphone to my android device so that i can hear songs of my wish while i was travelling from workplace to my home. But the android device is not recognizing my headphones. Why is it so? Is this due to any compatibility issues? Please clarify.

Re: Android phone not identifying the compatible headphones

    Hi,
There are two types of headsets the one with three layer pins and two layer pins. The two layer pins are compatible with all sorts of phone and those are the earphones that can be used with mp3 players too and doesn't have a mic. In case of three layers pins there are certain headphones which are not compatible with all the phones this happens a lot with Samsung Android phone unfortunately you have to use a different headphone only.
    Hope this Helps.

you have to check that some if the devices will work with 3-pin audio jack and some work with 4-pin jack.
Here the 3-pin jack is only for audio.
Where as 4-pin jack is both fir audio as well as mic for calling....
Try to check in this way

If you are so sure that the headphone is compatible then you have to check whether the head phone is faulty, also connect the other head phones and check if any other head phones are working with the Android mobile. so you can able to conclude which one is having a real problem.

If everything seems fine, better make sure that the headphone is compatible or not. i seriously doubt it is.

these can be the possible issues -
-head phone jack might not be working.
-that might be due to repeatedly inserting and removing a device from the headphone jack.
-can be due to lint problem

Well there are generally two types of headphones that are compaitable. The first is two layered pin which is compaitable in almost all android phones. The second is three layered pin which is only compaitable with few phones. I guess you need to opt for two layered if your headphone has got threelayered pin.

there are two types of headphone for 3.5mm audio jack.two pin headphones have greater compatibility than three pin.
so try to diagnose your problem.follow steps below.
1.try to get relatives headphone and try on your phone so you can get some idia.
2.now get other type of headphone and check it work or not.
3.now take your headphone and try on others phone

you can easily find what is problem by following these steps.
