Apps tend to update automatically on Samsung Galaxy SII android smartphone

It seems that auto update is enabled on my Samsung Galaxy SII as I am noticing unnecessary data usage for the past few weeks. How can I disable it?

As a first step, launch the android market on your phone by tapping over its icon on the home page. Press the menu button and choose ‘My Apps’ option from the list appears on the screen. Again hit the menu button and tap the ‘Settings’ option. Scroll through the displayed list and check whether the ‘auto update’ is enabled or not. Deselect the checkbox near to that option if it is already selected. Locate the ‘Notifications’ and ‘Update over Wi-Fi only’ options afterwards. Tap over the checkbox near to both options until it shows a green tick mark.

    Hello Guest,
For disabling this, just point to Menu>Google Play Store. The Play Store app would be launched. Now, in the main screen, tap for the options. A popup appears, just select "Settings" from this menu. Now, just uncheck the "Auto-Update apps" and "Update over wi-fi only" options. That's it. Now, you will be able to save on the unnecessary data usage. Thank You. Hope this helps. :-)
