The official Update of the Galaxy Ace Duos to Android v4.0 is not possible but if there is any custom Rom developed for the phone then an update might be possible if not the update is not possible because Samsung is a bad flagship for its lower end phones.
    Hope this Helps

    Dear,

    My answer is no.
official ICS Has not been Released yet for your Device by Samsung.
So you can not Upgrade your device with it.
You will find many Custome ICS Roms on internet for your Device but they are unofficial.
Dont go for them.It can Even damage your Device too.

    Thank you..!!

Re: Can I update the Android version from 2.3 to 4.0 in Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos?

Well, you cannot update the Android version from 2.3 to 4.0 as it is not released officially for Galaxy Ace Duos, even if you boot your device to upgrade to 4.0, it won't work well. Because it is having 832MHz CPU which is not sufficient for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Version, at least 1GHz is required, other wise you will get a lot of Lags and stability issues, it's better to use 2.3.6 only.

Android 4.0 is only for High-end phones not for the Low-end phones.

    Hope you understand this..!!

Until now your device is not compatible for upgradation.

But you can check it from Settings

Go to Settings via Menu and then click on About Phone and software updates

Here you can see your phone compatibility fr upgradation

No, Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos I589 doesn't support 4.0.

If you still want to taste ICS the you may root your phone and flash a custom ROM.

This is not recommended considering your phone's specification.

Re: Can I update the Android version from 2.3 to 4.0 in Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos?

    Hello friend,

I will help you to solve your problem, don't worry just follow as i say.

1.There is no official release of Android version of 4.0 that is ICS for your mobile.

2.But you can upgrade your phone to ICS by installing and rooting your phone with CM9.

3.But it is not advisable because if you install it you may lose your phone completely.

4.Because if it goes any mistake in the rooting process then you will need to lose your phone.

5.And there is a major bug that camera will not work by installing it.

6.If you still want to install it on to your device then follow the instructions given in youtube.

    All the best.................

Re: Can I update the Android version from 2.3 to 4.0 in Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos?

No, you can't update your Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos 2.3 into 4.0 (ICS).
Samsung has not officially launched the 4.0 ICS OS for Galaxy Ace Duos.
Because its hardware specification doesn't match with the minimum requirement of ICS OS.
I think, You have to live happily with your present (2.3) version of OS.
