Cannot find songs after transferring to HTC One X storage

I was able to transfer the songs successfully into the storage of my HTC One X. But, it was not possible to find any of them while opening the music player. Is there any way to retrieve those songs from my phone?

Please ensure that you are searching the files in the right folder. Perform a media scan apart from the one that is already performed by the phone after removing the phone from PC. If you still have this problem then navigate to music player and press the menu option and select the option as update media library.
    Hope this Helps.

    The problem looks like the player is not able to recognize the song files stored in SD CARD,try the following;

    1) MAKE SURE that your SD card is working fine and recognized by the Device, check for the other files available in the SD CARD.
    2) if thats working fine then better check the file formats of the Songs.
    3) Check whether the player you are using have the ability to play the particular type of songs you have stored.
    4) Now, install some other music player, and try to locate the files and try playing.

there might several reasons for this problem
1)data storage device is in encrypted format
    2)files are in hidden state..
    3)corrupted data
resolve all these issues and check again...
and also refresh you library after transferring ....

Re: Cannot find songs after transferring to HTC One X storage

I was having the same problem. Moved some new songs to my phone recently.. copied them to the phone storage (note that the htc one x does not have an sd card). The ones that I copied into the Music folder showed on the music player, but not the ones in the child folders inside the Music folder.

This solved the issue for me:
    1. Go to Settings-> Apps -> Music Player. Clear the cache.
    2. Move one of the songs from the child folder to the main Music folder (I used a 3rd party file manager like ES File Explorer)
    2. Go to the Music Player, open the music library, choose "My phone".
    3. The music library will start updating (this will take a while if you have a lot of songs on your phone, and might slow the phone down)
    4. Move the song back to its original folder...the library will update again next time.

I really wish the stock player came with a Refresh Library option like the guys above suggested, but unfortunately couldn't find it, don't think it exists on the HTC One X.

I'm not sure whether it's step 1 or step 2 which solved the issue. You can try both as well.

    Hope it helps
