The GPS has stopped working in my Samsung Galaxy Ace android phone

My GPS has saved me plenty of times. It has worked great over the last 1.5 years. Last week I could not get a signal and again yesterday the GPS would not "fix" even after 1 hour of trying. I have searched online and found some solutions but they don't seem to apply to my galaxy s phone. Can anyone help me out with this?

    hey friend ..

I think this problem of GPS in your phone can be due to the following reasons :

    - Your phone got affected by viruses

    - Your phone's software got corrupted

    - There are no signals in your phone

For this problem try the following steps to solve the problem :

    - Scan your phone for any viruses and install antivirus in it ..

    - Reset and update your phone with the new software

    - Look out for the network signals that whether those are coming in a good level or not ..
If not then you have to contact your network service provider and ask for the same...

If the above steps not solve the problem then i would suggest you to take your phone to the service centre and get it checked

    thanks

Samsung Galaxy Ace is one of the Best Samsung Smart phone in the Android version.SO if you want to get your GPS data back then :
You must be connected with the Internet which works fast.
Go to the Android market and download the GPS installer into your mobile and install in your mobile.
You can see the change after installation of that software. So after doing this it will work definitely.

GPS works based on Satellite signals..
it may be the cases that the place you were in at the time.. doesn't have a steady satellite signal..
Be sure to be in a open place to use gps..
also you should check you internet connectivity..
Gps may also runs depending on your phone signal strength..
May be signal were weak in that area..

or ultimately your application got corrupted or some other 3rd party app is interfering..
you should also scan your phone for viruses.. just in case..
try some other GPS software to see it hardwares working fine..

    Hi,
The problem with the GPS application can be analyzed with the help of the application by name "Gps Test" download the application from "Play Store" and once the application is downloaded move to an open space where there is complete contact with the sky and run the application and see that how many satellites are providing you signal from that you can find the problem is either with the application or is with the phone. If there is signal from more than 3 satellites then there is no problem with the phone and it must be a application related issue so that you can clear data and cache of the application by opening the "Application Drawer" from which you can navigate to the "Manage Applications" menu by selecting the "Settings" menu and then select the option as "Applications" once it is opened then select the required application and then clear the data and cache of the application so that the application will work properly.
    Hope this Helps.
