It is always desirable that you make use of GPS in an open space. Ensure that the location source has been enabled in your device. For doing this, you will have to go to Apps. Then click on Settings option. Choose Location and Security. Finally you will have to navigate towards ‘My Location’ sources section. Then finally tap the option denoted as ‘Standalone GPS Satellites’. Then you will have to restart the device again. If still the issue is not fixed, you will have to do a factory reset.

It's might not be GPS that is your underlying problem. Pay attention to your bars when navigation 'locks up'. If they go from blue to white, then you've got cell signal but not a "handshake" with you carrier so your data connection will drop and you navigation app will stop updating.

GPS totally works on satellite command then it sure error occurs when it does not get network to get connected with satellite

Re: GPS not working properly in Motorola Droid android device

    hello friend

THERE ARE NUMBER OF REASONS FOR NOT CONECTING OF GPRS,
    • Network problems : If signal is not good then gprs is not works properly.
    • GPS setings : If network is conected to gprs or not just check in settings.
    • GPS software should be updated regularly.
    • GPS can find the location point , so some time GPS cant find location point exactly so it not work correctly some times.

    hello friend,
first Restart your mobiles when your GPS is not working.
after this if still not working then please follow below steps while using GPS:::
1.Make sure,Network is available during GPS is running.

2.Try to Use Faster Internet Connection.
    e.g- use 3G network over 2G network

3.Don't use other online apps while using GPS.

4.Dont use multiple App in background, because it may slow your mobile speed and it will effect on Your GPS running services.

    thats it
i am damn sure ,if you follow above steps then you wont get problem again.
    thank you

Re: GPS not working properly in Motorola Droid android device

    Hello friend,
There may be some software or virus regarding issue to must have to reset your phone and then try again.

Remember, by performing a reset, all your data- settings, messages, apps, etc would be deleted.
    So backup up anything important.

    Follow these steps:
    - Go to 'Settings'.
    - Privacy.
    - 'Factory Data Reset'.
    - Fill in your id and password and confirm.
    - You can choose whether to delete SD card data or not.

After the process is complete, your device would return to its out-of-the-box state or to its factory settings.

    Regards!
