How to avoid the installation of non market apps on Android 2.2 and 2.3?

By default, Android does not allow users to install applications from any unknown sources. I have heard that it is possible to enable this on your device if you are sure that the application is safe. How can I activate this feature on my device?

You can easily enable this feature on your device by following some simple steps. First of all, open up the app drawer in your Android device. Then go to the settings option and select it by tapping on it. Go to the applications option in the settings page. On tapping the application settings you will be forwarded to its page. There you can find the Unknown Sources option at the top of the screen. This is the option that let you install the apk files from the SD card or any storage device. Just put a check mark against it. Then a warning window will appear, click on OK to continue.
