    Hello friend,

First of all check whether your manufacturer has released ICS officially for your device.

    If Yes:
    - You can check for updates directly from your device and download through WiFi over the Air. Check your device's official page.
    - Update through the PC Software of your device (e.g: Kies in Samsung), connect through USB and download and install updates.

    If No:
Don't worry if it is not officially released for your device.
Rooting your device is the key to all problems. The procedure is different for different devices so just Google it for your device. Once rooted, you can have almost total control over your device. Although it may void warranty.
There are many ICS ROM's available unofficially for Android device. The best one is CyanogenMod 9. It is also somewhat official to some extent. Even MIUI is good though.
Un-official stock ICS ROM's are also available. You can also use patched ICS ROM's of other popular device.
You can get all the procedure on XDA Forums.

    Regards!

You can upgrade if you have an official update you can easily update by connecting the phone to a PC and then opening the system PC connectivity tool and by selecting the firmware update it will automatically update it or if you have a wifi connection you can do it over the air from settings->software update. If you want to upgrade unofficially then you have to follow the procedure
    1. Root your phone.
    2. Install recovery (for backup purpose and other advanced features)
    3. Install custom ROM.
It depends on phone on how to install so mention your phone model and number correctly to get accurate procedure.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello friend,

I will help you to solve your problem, don't worry just follow as i say.

Firstly you hadn't mentioned the model number of your phone. So i can't give you the accurate solution but the common procedure to upgrade your phone is in this way.

1.Firstly check whether you have an official version of update available for your phone.

Then connect your phone to the PC.

And your phone will get detected by the PC automatically.

Then afterwards you will be prompted with the firmware update of your phone.

Then follow the onscreen instructions and your problem will get solved for sure.

    All the best............................

    Hi

    Yeah sure you can !
You can upgrade your Android Device to the latest 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version provided your device supports that. You can do that in two ways possibly : Please read along :-

    1. Go to settings -> Phone -> About Phone -> Software Update -> When you click on it, it would check for the latest software update and then notify you about it and the file size. Please connect to a Wifi as these are large files and cannot be downloaded in 2G speeds. Also connect your phone to the AC Power supply so that it doesn't run out of power..

    2. Another way would be to take your phone to the company service station. If its in the guarantee period or its less than a year that you bought your device then they will update it for free. However if not, then they would charge you some Rs 100/- Thus you can get it done this way also..

    Hope this helps
    All the best
    Regards
