How to change the message alert repetition in Android 4.1.2?

I am using an Android 4.1.2 and it is highly disappointing that in Android phones the messages are notified only once. I may miss some important messages if I am busy with work. How can I set the message to alert me about the unread messages repeatedly?

You can set this up in your Android phone without depending on any other apps. First open the message app from the app drawer. When the app is open, tap the menu button and choose settings from the list. Navigate to the ‘Message Alert Repetition’ option in the settings screen and tap on it to see the available options of message alert. There you will see three options which reminds you about the message just once, in every two minutes and every 10 minutes. You can change these options as many times you want. After choosing any one option the window will be automatically closes and it will be saved.
