How to know the memory status of Phonebook in android?

I am using a Karbonn android phone. I have saved many contacts of my friends in the device. Now when I tried to save a new contact, I got an error message stating the memory to be full. I would like to know the memory status of the Phonebook on my android phone. Please let me know how this can be done.

    Hi,

There is no way for knowing the memory occupied by phonebook except you can find total size in Settings-->Applications.
Android offers practically unlimited contact storing facility but i dont know how you managed to cross that limit. I think your error is due to the full internal memory. I suggest you to clear your internal memory by uninstalling the unnecessary apps. This may help you out.
