How to make Android based Google Nexus One to use Static IP address?

When I connect my Android based Google Nexus One to a wireless network, it uses the dynamic IP address. I want it to use the static IP address instead. What are the procedures required for that?

Get into the home screen and press the ‘Menu’ button. Select ‘Settings’ from the available menu and hit the ‘Wireless & networks’ option. The next step required is to tap the ‘Wi-Fi settings’ option and hit the ‘Menu’ key. You can then find the ‘Advanced’ option on the screen. Make a single tap over that option for bringing up ‘Use static IP’ label. There is a check box next to this option. Tap on that checkbox until it gets selected.
