How to make Android based Sony Xperia Miro to turn off Wi-Fi automatically while switching into Sleep mode?

My Sony Xperia Miro running on Android 4.0 keeps Wi-Fi ‘ON’ even if I put it into Sleep mode. Due to that, I lose much battery power from my phone. Is there any way available to avoid this?

First of all, get into the ‘Settings’ menu with the help of ‘Menu’ key. You can view lot of options inside that menu. Scroll through that menu and find out ‘Wi-Fi’ option. Then, tap over that option with your fingers once. The next step required is to hit the ‘Advanced’ option. This will redirect you to the advanced Wi-Fi settings. You can find ‘Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep’ option from those settings. Tap on that option and select the checkbox next to ‘Never’ label. Confirm that the check box shows tick mark after that.

Open the "Settings" from home screen of your device then tap to open the option. After that will see an option as "Wireless & Networks" open that then tap on "WiFi Settings".After that you need to activate the WiFi first.Once done tap on "Menu key" when open will see a pop up appear under open "Advanced Settings".Now open the same above will see "WiFi Sleep Policy".Under that you should tap on "When Screen Turn Off".Once you tap on that option then once your phone screen is off then WiFi will also be off.

You can also fix the problem by setting the factory reset:

:: For that move the home screen, open the menu button.

:: Press on "settings" on your device.

:: Then select and open the “SD & Phone Storage” option after the settings.

:: Now hit on “factory data reset” which is located at the bottom part.

:: Then hit on “Reset Phone” so that you will finalize the "Factory Reset" task.
