How to make Android based Sony Xperia P to accept voice input?

I used to perform certain actions on my Android based Sony Xperia P by typing the text. Now, I am planning to enter voice input instead of words. Is that possible?

While you enter text in your phone, you can find ‘Number and Symbol’ icon on the on-screen keyboard. Tap on that option for getting into input settings. You can also hit the ‘Number’ icon on phonepad for accessing these settings. The next step required is to hit the ‘Text input settings’ icon. This will bring up a list of text input options on the screen. Scroll through that list and hit the ‘Keyboard settings’ option. You can then ‘Google voice typing key’ option on the screen. Mark the checkbox next to this option with a single tap.
