    Hi,
In order to save your Android applications ad .apk file you can do it by using a File Manager that is by name "Root Explorer" that the application can be installed by downloading it from "Play Store" and once it is downloaded open the application from the application drawer and then select the option as "System" in that you will find a folder as "App" this will help you to copy the files from the .apk files of the applications from phone memory to your SD card so that the applications will be saved. Also you can take backup of your applications by using the application "Titanium Backup" from which you can restore the application separately.
    Hope this Helps.

For saving your android apps in your phone in apk format, you need a application called APP SAVER. The app is not available in Google Play Store, however you can google it and download it and install it in your phone. after installing it in your phones you can save your apps in apk format.

if you want to create a backup of the applications installed on phone memory..
you can then use the apps to do so..
go to play.google.com and look for 'Titanium Backup'.. this app will backup all you data to SD card from Phone memory..
you can also use this app later to restore the data you backed up earlier..

if you specifically want the .apk files..
then get an app named 'Root Explorer'.. this will enable you to see system files, you wouldn't see otherwise..
open the app and navigate your way to System >> App..
here you can see all the .apk files..

Well yes you can store your file into .apk extension. All you need to do is download the app called root explorer from the play store. Once you have downloaded it . Launch the app from application drawer and goto system in it and select the option app. There you can convert the file into .apk extension. You can backup the apps into your sdcard or your phone if you like.
