My friend who possesses an android supported Nexus 7 handset told me that there is an option like Hotword detection on the handset which is quite interesting. I too have the same handset model and would like to enable this option on my handset. How can I turn it on?

First you have to get into the start screen of your Nexus 7 handset. There you will have to hit on the menu option. Followed by that, you should hit on the options labeled ‘Settings’. Then the option with the label ‘Voice’ has to be selected. With that section you can see the option named ‘Hotword detection’. There you can turn on or off the feature just by swiping. If this feature is enabled, you can just say ‘Google’ in order to perform a search on your handset.
You need to open the menu option from home screen of your device by tapping on menu app.After that navigate to Settings,will find on 1st page of Menu.Once you open the Settings then drag below there will see an option denoted as Voice.Need to tap on that to open,once done will see an option as Hotword Detection.By swiping you can easily turn ON or Off the feature.Once you activated this feature then simply say Google your device will start searching.

Steps to turn ON the Hot-word detection on Nexus 7:
:: It is very simple to turn ON the feature.
:: First of all close all running application from the Nexus 7 device.
:: After that go to the home screen page by pressing ""Menu"" button.
:: Now select the "settings" option from the screen.
:: After that select the “Voice" option and then open it.
:: Once it opens, you have to select the “Hot-word detection” that you want.
:: After selecting the ON option you have to enable the hot-word detection.
