    Dear,

Both are used for Different Purposes. Here the Explaination is given.

    - With the Help of Wifi Direct, you can connect your device to any wifi network available in that Area.By connecting to that Wifi Network you can Access internet on your device through that Network.

    - With the help of Tethering option you can share your device internet to the other Wifi Enable devices.By Activate tethering, you device will work as Wifi Hotspot Itself. You can connect other Wifi Enable devices to this Wifi Hotspot and Use Internet in those. Thus you can share internet through Tethering.

    Pleasure to help you..!!

    Hello Guest,
    Yes, sure. Happy to help!
Wi-Fi Direct is used to connect to wi-fi, in the literal sense. Like you turn on the wi-fi and then the search for the available networks begins. You can select the desirable network from the list. In other words, we access net on our devices by connecting to others on a network.

Wi-Fi Hoptspot is a recent technology provided by Android phones. You can share your internet, whether packet data/3G with other computers. So here lies the main difference. But you won't be able to use the shared wi-fi in your phone simultaneously. In simple words, using this feature we share our phone's internet connection with other computers etc.
Thank You. Hope my info was useful to you. :-)
