Root your Motorola Droid X and confirm that it have a Root Explorer. Launch the Root Explorer and navigate into /system/etc/motorola/com.android.browser. Go to the top right corner and locate the ‘Mount R/W’ button. Tap on that button once you find it and change it to ‘Mount R/O’. Find out defaults.xml afterwards and long press on it. Then, select ‘Open as Text Editor’ option and spot out ‘preloaded bookmark’. Change its value to zero and press the ‘Back’ button. Select ‘Yes’ option from the prompt message and hit the ‘Mount R/O’ for changing it back to ‘Mount R/W’. Quit the Root Explorer and open up the browser to check whether the preloaded bookmarks get disappeared or not.
