Removing message icon from status bar of my Samsung galaxy S2?

Anybody help me remove a text message icon from the status bar. My Samsung galaxy S2 has a message icon stuck in the status bar, it will clear when I pull down the notification and hits clear. But every time I open the message app and tap someoneís name to send or read a mess. It pops back up in the status bar.

this your firmware programming problem or any other problem like bugs or virus.
you have to clear your message apps data and cache.
    1)go to settings.
    2)open apps.
    3)select all tab.
    4)now tap on message app.
5)now click on force stop then click on clear data then clear cache also.

if it not works then follow below.
    first backup your data.
you have to reset your phone to get ride of this.but it removes all data and apps.
    1)go to settings
    2)open backup and reset.
3)at bottom there is option 'reset data factory'.
4)after reseting your phone restarts automatically.
    5)your done........

Well there is some serious firmware problem in your samsung galaxy s2. Cause of which your android device is showing such strange behaviour. For solving this problem you need to do the factory reset option with the help of which the phone function might optimize without much of bugs. To do that you just need to follow few steps. >1. Firstly you need to goto the settings application in your main menu. >2. Once you are there you need to scroll down to the backup and reset option and tap on it. >3. Once you are there will the factory reset option which you need to tap, it would ask the password just enter it and tap reset. Your phone will reboot and restart. You are done with it now.
