Samsung galaxy s3 doesn't read micro sd card anymore

my mobile handset, samsung galaxy s3 does't read 32 micro sd card.It worked fine initially but Now it is not able to read it.I checked it in my PC through memory card reader and my computer was able to read it properly which ensures that my mobile is faulty. I have replaced the memory card as well but still it is not working. What should I do to fix this issue?

    hey friend ..

I think this problem can be due to the following reasons :

    - Your memory card slot in phone got damaged
    - The memory card is not supported by your phone or is not compatible with it hence it worked fine for sometime and now it is showing errors and problems
    - Memory card is corrupted
    - Your memory card is affected by viruses
    - There is no much free space in the phone's memory

For this problem try the following steps to solve the problem :

    - Check whether memory card is supported by your phone or not either by checking it in someone else's phone or contacting service centre person
    - Scan your memory card for any viruses or malwares and install antivirus in it ..
    - You can also try to format the memory card and then use it ..
    - Free up the internal memory of phone and then use the phone
    - Check by inserting another memory into your phone and see if its read by the phone or not ..
If not then your phone's memory card slot got damaged and you have to take your phone to the service centre to get it repaired...

    thanks

your problem seems to suggest that something has gone wrong with your mobile device..
it can happen out of many reasons..
your phone came in contact with water..
or it fell from a height..
or the SD card wasn't inserted correctly.. or it was forced to be inserted in wrong way..
you should take care of such delicate devices..
if you checked your SD card with computer and works fine.. and also your phone isn't reading any other card..
you should take it to a Service center to have it looked at..
it a hardware defect.. and nothing you can do..

    Hello Guest,
It is likely that your Samsung Galaxy Phone is facing a hardware issue with the sdcard slot. This can happen due to excessive forcing and pressure on the slot while inserting sdcard. Sometimes it can happen due to repeated dropping of the phone on a hard surface causing internal damage to sim card slot as well. Now, you can do nothing yourself, but the only way out is to go to the nearest Samsung Service Centre and get the slot repaired by the technical assistance team. Thank You. Be careful while using your phone in future to avoid any such loss. All the Best.

Thumbs up Re: Samsung galaxy s3 doesn't read micro sd card anymore

This has just happened to me with my S3! However it was fine last night and i took photo's last night on a night out!

I updated the Andriod OS with a main update and now... it just says it is checking the memory card constantly!!

Can't access it at all! Tried to reset it, with and without the card inserted but no joy. Next step is try the card in another device or local photo shop to see if it can be read but the fact this happened after the "Crucial" update is annoying me as it isn't to my knowledge anything I personally have done.

Phone has not been damaged, dropped etc!

    Annoyed and disgruntled Samsung customer.

Re: Samsung galaxy s3 doesn't read micro sd card anymore

    Guys,

Similar (bad) experience on my side. Frist of all there was no damage, fall, water, nothing that could lead to a hardware failure.

I had my S3 since Sep/12. A few weeks ago I noticed that my Samsung 32gb card no longer worked. The card seems to be bricked because it doesn't work on other phones either in a laptop. I got a 64gb Sandisk extreme form a friend and it worked straight away. Based on that I purchased the same card.

I've switched off the phone, inserted the card, switched on and immediately I got a message say card is not ready, you have to format (or something like that). I've formatted but still didn't recognised. Formatted again and the same result. Sunddenly the card no longer show up. The card is not even working on a laptop!

Initially I thought about hardware issue, now I'm also considering OS issue.

It's more than coincidence... 2 card, good brands, no damage whatsoever, laptop can't read them.

I'm inclined to send the phone to an authorized repair shop.

What is the route-cause? Anyone else with same issue? How about those that reported similar issue before? Any news?

    thanks for any feedback.

    hello,
your problem seems to be hardware problem
in this case you should go to service center near by and discuss about this problem
delaying to go to service center may not solve your problem
so i think you shoud go there in no time and get your problem solved.

Re: Samsung galaxy s3 doesn't read micro sd card anymore

I am experiencing the same issue with my memory card. The first time it happened it zapped the card so it was completely unusable after about 3 months of having the phone. I emailed sandisk and they sent me a replacement thinking that it was just a faulty card. It has just started happening again after about 3 months and SanDisk is again sending me a replacement but I lost a second round of information due to this problem. What are the chances the card was faulty twice?

Re: Samsung galaxy s3 doesn't read micro sd card anymore

Got exactly the same bad experience as above - 3 month and extra 32GB card is DEAD, it is not responding any more, not visible by other computers.
I think Samsung is trying to ignore the issue - but it is quite common problem reported by many users on web!!!!
How to fix it - such memory is to store my memories - if is dying what is the point to have it...
