Go to Settings---> Application---> Manage Application---> All Tab---> Select the ICS browser
    Select clear defaults.

Now launch the browser again, a pop up will ash you to select the default app. Select Google Chrome as default browser.

Now whenever you launch the browser, Google Chrome will be launched...

Re: Setting up default browser on HTC One X

    Hi,
Setting up a Default browser in your HTC One X is a very easy job all you have to do is navigate to the Default browser that came with the phone and when you try to load a page it will ask as "Perform Action using" select the button option as "Use this as Default action" then tap on the application that you want to set it as a Default one. In order to clear the Defaults navigate to settings from the application menu and then select the option as "Applications" and then select "Manage applications" in that select all and then navigate to the application that you have set as Default select that scroll down and select the option as "Clear Defaults".
    Hope this Helps.

Whenever I do that, clear the cache, the data and the default it still says the original browser is the default and when I open a new link it doesn't ask me to make chrome my default browser. What am I doing wrong?

That's exactly what's happening to me. I clear the data and the default settings and I click on a link and it never asks me to choose a browser, it automatically opens the ICS browser. I want to choose chrome, I've looked in the settings menu and it doesn't even have a tab or box to select it as the default browser. I've even tried downloading Firefox and the same thing there's not any where select it as the default browser. Please help, getting very frustrated.

Re: Setting up default browser on HTC One X

Instead of selecting the applications, go to app associations in your settings. Under there you'll have "web urls." Select web URLs and the you'll have the option to choose between the internet browser and google chrome or whatever browser you have downloaded. Select the browser then go to apps and check to verify the defaults. If it worked, your browser should list that it is being used as a default for unspecified things. To be sure it translated, I shut off all my internet apps and killed all internet processes.

    Hope this helped!
