Transferring apps on Android 2.3 Ginger Bread version

I have a Samsung Galaxy Y phone having Android Ginger Bread version. I would like to have my apps stored in the SD card but find such an option disabled in the app configuration. How can the apps be transferred from the phone to the memory card?

You could accomplish this task with the help of apps. There are plenty of apps available in the app stores that would help in these transfers. In case you are not interested in spending money on apps, you could get this done by changing the settings in the phone also. Get into the ‘settings’ page on the phone and select ‘applications’ from it. After selecting applications you will be able to find an option ‘manage applications’ within it. With the help of this you would be able to move the apps one by one from the phone to the SD card. However it is not able to move apps that do not support widgets.
