Turning off Text-to-Speech feature on Android based HTC One X

When I check e-mails on my Android based HTC One X, it will read the mail aloud automatically. I guess that the Text-to-Speech feature is enabled on the phone. I tried to disable it by going into Apps settings and turning off Google Text-to-Speech function. But, it does not make any difference in mail app. What else should I do to disable that feature?

Get into the main settings menu in your device. Browse through the options available there and find out ‘Accessibility’ option. Then, make a single tap over that option. This will bring up another list of options on the screen. Scroll through that list and locate ‘Install web scripts’ option. This option may have already checked on your device. Tap over that option once to disable it. On doing so, the tick mark will disappear from that option.
