I cannot figure out whether this is a problem with the android device or internet connection. I am not able to download any of the files from the internet even if it is showing an active internet connection. Please let me know some fix for this problem.

Hi,
In order to fix the problem with downloads open the "Settings" menu from the application drawer and then select the option as "Wireless&Networks" there you will be able to find an option as "Mobile Networks" select that and then change the settings of the "APN"(Access Point name) you can get the settings from the Service provider and then change the settings according to that. Also in order to download a file from the default browser you can long press on the download link which will pop up a menu there you can find an option as "Save link" select that and your download will start.
