Updating to Gingerbread 2.3.3 on Kies in Galaxy S2

I decided to update my Samsung Galaxy S2 from Froyo to Gingerbread today using Kies. However, during the updating process Kies gave me a notification that I have insufficient disk space for the update and requires at least 3GB disk space. So I am wondering how do I determine the folder where the update is being downloaded because I'm pretty sure I have over 3GB of space in my D drive , not for C drive though . Appreciate any help given.

    hey friend ..

The problem is simple that you have to clear up your phone's internal memory or what you say C:/ memory as the update needs your phone's internal memory to be free enough for the update to be installed ..
For this you can simply clear or delete all the caches , cookies , browsing history from your phone..
Next , you can also move your installed apps to SD card using app2sd app available in the android market

Also just uninstall the apps which you dont use or use rarely

Now regarding your software update query here i am giving you the procedure to do so ...

Just follow the steps given below and you will be able to update your software in your samsung android phone :

    - First of all make sure that you have samsung kies software being installed into your PC..
If you dont already have then you can download it from the samsung.com site..
    - Then make sure to take backup of all the important data of your phone to the PC
    - After you have installed the kies software into your PC make sure that your phone has no open applications in it ..
    - Now connect your phone with the PC using the usb cable and select samsung kies in your phone when prompted
    - Next open the kies software in your PC and make sure that your PC is connected to the internet
    - The kies software will search for available software update for your phone ..
    - Then you will be prompted to update your firmware ..just click on update option and then wait..
    - The moment you hit update option kies will download the update from the internet to your phone and then install it ..
    - When done you will be prompted to restart your phone ...
So , just restart your phone and then you are done with the software update process..

    thanks
