Username problem in genuine Windows 8 full version

I recently bought an Asus laptop with preinstalled Windows 8 64 bit. I added my Microsoft username and password when the OS prompted for logging in. When I logged in for the first time, I noticed a username completely different from what I had given. I changed the name but downloads still go to Users/*new username*. How can I sort this out?

First switch the account to a local account. Now you have to create a new Microsoft account, which can help fix this. Change the account to make it an Administrator and sign out. Now sign back in to the new account and delete the old account. Now restart your laptop and check for updates. Install latest updates and restart again. If the old strange account folder is in the ‘Users’ folder, try a reset. The updates should be enough to fix the problem for good.
