VPN not working in Android 4.0 after upgrading it from version 2.3?

I want to use VPN in Android 4.0. Initially i was using android version 2.3.7 and vpn was working fine over there but i udpated the android version and now i have android 4.0 but there is a problem in connecting vpn.Why it is happening and how to solve this issue?

Guessing from the description of problem given by you ,It seems there is problem with the settings of your VPN.I'll suggest you to tweak the VPN setting and see If it works.You can use the following settings :-

1) GO to Home>>>Menu>>>>Settings.


2)Tap on Wireless & networks>>>>>VPN settings.


3)Click on Add VPN.


4)Select the Type of VPN to add.choose ‘Add PPTP VPN’.


5)In the next window, you'll be prompted to set VPN Name, VPN Server, Enable encryption, and DNS search domains.


6)After providing VPN Name and other information accordingly,GO back to the VPN listings window and tap the VPN network just created to establish the connection.

The problem would be the VPN you have set with Android version 2.3.7 would not be recognized with the new Android Version 4.4. Try to delete the old setting and try to create the new one with all the proper details for the server name & port no. It would definitely work.

Please go to Setting--> Wireless and Networks--> VPN Settings and reconfigure your settings... The VPN didn't save your setting when you moved to the new higher firmware... The issue will be rectified if you reconfigure and get your settings correct...

You must have missed the wirless or lan settingsin the upgrade files. Check for such files on developer site and then perform update.

i am also got same problem after upgrade....all stupids here they dont know anything for help. they dont have enoygh knowledge.... i am tried more still not working.

So first of all go and turn on your android device and then just go to the home screen and then go and tap on to the Menu And then just go to the Settings...And then just tap on to the Wireless & networks..After that just VPN settings....And then just go and click on to the Add VPN...And then select the Type of VPN to add.choose ‘Add PPTP VPN’...Now at the end just next window, you'll be prompted to set VPN Name, VPN Server, Enable encryption, and DNS search domains...And then providing VPN Name and other information accordingly,GO back to the VPN listings window and tap the VPN network just created to establish the connection.....All Done ....

I have the same problem after upgrade to ICS 4.0.3 on a S2. I understand how to input the settings and log on etc but keep getting a Time Out message. I have tried PPTP, IPSEC and L2TP and no joy. Any help???
