What has to be done for installing Android JellyBean into Samsung Captivate?

I am using Samsung Captivate since two months. Now, I would like to install Android JellyBean 4.1.1 into my device. What are the steps needed to be taken for that?

    Hello friend ,

Inorder to update software in you samsung device , you can go to the service center by taking a backup of your phone as you can loose all data , we can also update it but it wil be better if you give it in samsung store. if your device is in warranty , it will be done for free of cost .

    Hi,
In order to install android Jellybean in your Samsung Captivate phone you have to log on to get.cm website there you will be able to find your device in the list of devices that is available. There you can select the option as Stable in the top right corner of the website and then download the version CM-10 that will be available. Once you have downloaded you have to install a custom recovery into your device and in order to do that you have to install ADB in your system such that you will be able to connect the phone to a PC and then access the phone via PC once you have done that you can select the option to install Clockworkmod recovery in the phone and then place the ROM that you have downloaded in the SD card. Also download latest Gapps for 4.1.1 from goo.im. Place both ROM and Gapps in your SD card and then Format the phone and install the ROM.
    Hope this helps.
