What should I do to reset my galaxy tab to factory setting?

What are the steps for a hard reset of a Samsung galaxy tab? Will I lose all the data in the device if I do a hard reset?

Re: What should I do to reset my galaxy tab to factory setting?

A device is subjected to a hard reset mainly to erase all the data present in it. Once you perform a hard reset on the Galaxy tablet, all the data stored in the device will be deleted. This process can be performed when the device is going to be sold or exchanged. The user needs to do the following steps to get the reset done. Turn the device off and then hold the power and volume up button together. Once the Samsung logo appears, the power button can be released. Now the screen will give an option to wipe all data and factory reset. Navigate through the menu using the volume up button.

    Hi!
Hard Reset can be done even if device won't seem to power on or start. Make sure that it is off.
Press the "volume up" and "power" button simultaneously and hold them for few seconds.
When you see the logo appear, release the power button but keep holding the "volume up" button.
Now you will se a menu where you can use "volume up" and "volume down" button to navigate. Check the option "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" using the Power Button.

You will lose data only from phone's internal memory and nothing else. So, just take your backup on sd card. you can also use app Titanium backup to take backup. I hope this helped you.

Re: What should I do to reset my galaxy tab to factory setting?

    Hey

Hard reset and Factory reset are different things.

Hard reset is done when your tab or phone hangs and nothing works. In a phone you obviously have your battery and if the phone hangs you can take out the battery or do a hard reset. But in case of tab you have to do a hard reset.

You can do that by pressing the home key and the volume key simultaneously. And you wont loose any of your data.

For a factory reset go to settings-->>Backup and reset-->>Then tap factory data reset.

In factory reset you will loose your data so do backup before you do a factory reset.

    Thanks

Re: What should I do to reset my galaxy tab to factory setting?

If you hard reset any device you will lose all the data that it contains
You need to back up all the data before performing hard reset

To reset your samsung galaxy follow these simple steps
    • Go to the home screen of the device
    • Then select the settings icon
    • Now locate the Apps menu and then tap on it
    • Now choose Privacy option
    • Then select the Factory reset option
    • Now tap on erase all the data
    • Confirm the action
This method is useful while your device is working properly and it is not locked

Dear friend whenever you go to reset or factory reset option then there is 100% chances to lose your data.

To avert such possibilities you can install back up manager app. from the google app.store.This app will

facilitate you to save your important datas while you are on reset or factory reset your device.so it is

urgent you must download the back up managerapp.it it is still absent to your device.
