why does my samsung galaxy apollo keep saying "there is a problem with the network"?

my family have recently changed internet providers to sky and so we have been given a new router.
whenever i use the internet my samsung galaxy apollo keeps saying there is a problem with the network, the first time it did this i left it to sort itself out but it didn't so i turned the wifi off then back on and it works for about 5 minutes then it does it again.
its only my phone that does this in my house and i can't reset the router because it needs to sort out what speed it needs to work at and i have forgot the network and reconnected it but that still does not solve the problem i have also restored to its factory settings and that too has not fixed the problem.
what could be causing this and how can i fix it?

Re: why does my samsung galaxy apollo keep saying "there is a problem with the network"?

There are many reasons for this to happen---

    1) Check the power cord of the wifi router, bad power supply may cause frequent disconnections.

    2) Influence of other routers- Side by Side routers may cause disturbance, so change the broadcast channel default access point to minimise interference. Remember to also change the network name (SSID) by default.

3)Change the properties of the network connections, click advanced tab and un-check "Allow the system to turn off this device".

    4) Inappropriate Frequency-Some routers have certain preference to certain channels, so when you are just a few meters away from the router, it will lead to an unstable connection.Test each channel- 5,6,7,10,11 or 12. This is the case for Dlink, Netgear, Linksys.

    5) Unstable Network Protocol-Some network protocols (Aegis, for example) are relatively unstable in a WiFi connection and can cause loss of connection. Just uninstall. To do this, go to the properties of the wireless connection, select the corresponding line in the general tab, then click uninstall below.
