Most of the Android devices will end up Heating too much when put on charge, or use it for a long time. There is nothing wrong in that so you dont have to worry too much about the problem.
You can keep this problem under control by doing the following things;
1) Charge Effectively, Charge only when its below 15%.
2) When you put for charge, make sure that you charged the battery to 100%.
3) Dont use any Silicon Cover, Leather case, If you need protection, use it only when you go out.

But one of the major reason for it is its dimension.
It is too slim compare to other phones.
So its rear body part gets heat quickly.
Not an big issue.

Hi, if other phones show that OVERHEATING, it is not normal, it is a problem!!!!!
I bougth a HTC ONE X, after one week I had to sent back to the sender for the overheating problem, more than 50°C is not normal, you can not hold this in your hand, and neither in your ears if you are talking.
if the reason for the overheating is the slim, HTC should comunicate to the costumers, ..... hey the phone is nice, slim but overheat like hell, your choice.......
One more thing expose the phone´s components to continues overheating will result in a damage of the equipment, it hapened to me with a laptop for the same reason.

You need to visit service centre if it is getting overheat in less time.This may be happing because battery has gone weaker.I suggest you to use less 3G network & play less games.Also don;t use data connection & WiFi all the time when not in use.However,go to service centre there tell your issue they will definitely respond to your problem.They might change battery to make the device perfect.If they do then have to pay at least Rs 1500/-.So,go there as soon as possible.
