Wi-Fi get disabled automatically while turning off Android based HTC Vivid

It is possible to connect my Android based HTC Vivid to Wi-Fi network properly. But whenever I switch off the screen, Wi-Fi will turn off by itself. How can I correct this issue?

You should change the WiFi sleep policy. To do so open get into menu window from home screen of your device then locate the option "Settings".Open that & above will find an option as "Wireless & Networks".Many different options available now tap over "WiFi settings".When open then tap on "Menu key" there must hit over "Advanced settings".A new window appear with few options, above you must select & tap over "WiFi Sleep policy".A pop up appear scroll down & tap over an option as "Never".Once done wifi will not be disconnected even if device screen goes off.
