Firmware failed to update due to the lack of Wi-Fi connection

My android device does not have a Wi-Fi connection. I had some issues with my device and i decided to have firmware upgrade of my device. But when i tried to upgrade the firmware, it failed stating lack of Wi-Fi connection. Is firmware upgrading directly related to the presence of Wi-Fi connection? If not, tell me why this is happening.

    Hello

Yes it needs a wifi connection because you have to download a large file which may get interrupted when done via 3g or gprs so they wont allow it.

Try doing it via a usb cable else arrange a wifi connection asap.

It will be max 200 mb so you can ask a friend for favor also.

    Thanks

Re: Firmware failed to update due to the lack of Wi-Fi connection

    Hi,
The software update through a WiFi is recommend because the WiFi connection is a lot reliable when compared to that of a Mobile Data connection since there might be some fluctuation with the Mobile data from time to time and also it costs a lot. The recommendation of WiFi connection is preferred all over the world and also it is more efficient and reliable that might be the reason that the phone is not updating if you have a good WiFi network and reception and then try updating from there which will help you update the phone.
    Hope this Helps.

    dear friend,

if you want to update firmware wirelessly then you should have a wifi connection otherwise you can do it with help of ur pc for this ur pc must have running internet connection & pc suite of your cell phone(software) n you must also have data cable there is another good option also that you can take your phone to nearest service centre & ask themn to update its firmware if your cell is under warranty then they wont charge any amount otherwise they take prescribed amount which can be around 100-250 rs depending on your phone

there is only one best solution that upgrade your phone with latest firmware officialy by going to customer service.so dont waste your data usage and time on wifi or gprs.however you can upgrade your phone at night so you can save your time and there is low data traffic at night.
    so make your choice..................

Well its a problem if you dont have wifi in your phone to download firmware. But there are other alternatives but are not as reliable as firmware. One is to download the firmware gprs i.e ur mobile net . Another way is u can transreceive a file from ur friend via bluetooth. Or you can connect your phone to pc via usb and download to your phone. Happy to help.
